90 Irish and International Suppliers Generate Sales of Almost €2.5m at our United Hardware Trade Show
On 14th April 90 Irish and international suppliers generated almost €2.5 million in sales as they showcased thousands of hardware, homeware and agri products at our United Hardware’s trade show held in the Citywest Hotel in Dublin this week.
Sales at this year’s event marked a 25 percent increase on sales generated at our last trade show in 2014 (€2 million), which Patrick Cassidy, CEO of United Hardware believes is due to a combination of improved consumer confidence and increasing home improvement activity.
“The outstanding success of this year’s trade show demonstrates that despite challenges which remain in the construction sector, the hardware sector is in growth mode and improved consumer confidence is beginning to trickle through to sales.”
“Our retailers are optimistic about uplift in construction activity over the coming summer period and are determined to leverage momentum in the marketplace. The home improvement segment in particular is in growth mode and is projected to provide considerable opportunities going forward.”
Suppliers at the trade show included familiar household names to segments such as tools, paint, homeware, gardening, timber, building materials, and plumbing and heating. United Hardware also had fantastic pallet alley offers on the day, with savings up to €8,000 to be made. The tradeshow was a great opportunity for the marketing team to showcase all the services they provide to the members on the group.
Irish Cement sponsored our give away prizes on the day with 6 of our members winning a pallet of cement.
Throughout the day there were breakout sessions from David Fitzsimons, CEO of Retail Excellence Ireland, who spoke about who is winning in retail and why. Annmarie Harte, the CEO of Hardware Association Ireland discussed card services and POS systems. Hilary Hough who is a certified accountant and chartered director was also there on the day. He spoke about maximising the profit from your UHL relationship.
